Would you like to share this with someone?

Hi,

I’m in Manila for the next few weeks, combining family time and making memories with my "Bring It On Book Tour."

It’s so good to be home. I had my first event last week where I delivered a brand new KeyWork for YPO Philippines.

It’s always inspiring to engage with such driven and dynamic leaders, who dare to be vulnerable and share their journeys.

I’m looking forward to more enriching interactions and the opportunity to make a lasting impact during this tour.

Here are some Inner Game perspectives to consider this week

1 question from me:

1 - Who do you love spending time with but haven't seen recently?

2 - Can you reach out to them today?

2 insights from me:

1

Move toward the next thing, not away from the last thing.  Same direction. It’s a completely different energy.

2

Friendship happens on the way to something else.

If you "try to meet new people" it feels weird and forced. The more you aim for friendship, the more it eludes you.

But friendship happens naturally during the shared pursuit if you aim to learn or achieve something with others.

3 quotes:

1

"Over the years, I've learned that the first idea you have is irrelevant. It's just a catalyst for you to get started. Then you figure out what's wrong with it and you go through phases of denial, panic, and regret.

And then you finally have a better idea and the second idea is always the important one."

-Arthur van Hoff, in his seimnal book

2

"For me, success is not a public thing. It's a private thing. It's when you have fewer and fewer regrets."

-Toni Morrison on the measure of success

3

“People say they’re perfectionists. What they’re really saying is, they’re scared.”

Perfectionism often masks underlying fears of failure, criticism, and vulnerability, driving individuals to seek control and validation through flawlessness.

The most insightful piece I came across this week

"More people determine the fates of others without having to pay the consequences. Skin in the game means you own your own risk. It means people who make decisions in any walk of life should never be insulated from the consequences of those decisions, period. If you’re a helicopter repairman, you should be a helicopter rider."

What’s new with the POD

Did you know that social media owns your A**? If you’re a frequent listener to the show, then the answer is a resounding “YES!” But here’s something you probably didn’t know.

Escaping The Digital Matrix

A quote I've been pondering on this week

“You can't replace reading with other sources of information like videos, because you need to read in order to write well, and you need to write in order to think well.” - Paul Graham

I think this relates:

Writing is often the process by which you realize that you do not understand what you are talking about.

Some of the things I read and listened to this week

A great list of small life hacks with big returns. My favorites:

  • Call a family member daily (relationships are paramount)

  • Read before bed (better sleep)

  • Hike every weekend (nature + exercise = win)

Most relationships are ruined by this one question

I'm rooting for you to have even more success.
